Olesya Belkevich: I never considered Sedokova a rival. Football is like life

  • 08.05.2024

The ex-captain of Dynamo, its famous midfielder Valentin Belkevich, passed away very young. He was also a member of the Belarus national team, and most recently a coach. All this is about Valentin Belkevich, who died at 41. He passed away on August 3, 2014.

Future star of Ukrainian football, originally from Belarus

Valentin was born on January 27, 1973 in Minsk. Little is known about his childhood and parental family. Valentina Kapustin’s mother taught Russian at one of the Minsk institutes, her father was a historian. As a child, the boy was sent to the youth sports school for the football section. Most likely this was the mother’s initiative, since after Belkevich’s death, his coach Mikhail Bratchenya recalled that his father objected to his son playing football. This was explained by the fact that Valentin did not shine in his studies, and his father sought to raise a successor to the dynasty of teachers. But football turned out to be the activity where the guy showed his best qualities - he made progress. But dad didn’t notice this, didn’t appreciate it and didn’t see the future - even the uniform and sports shoes were chosen for the student by the coach.

At the same time, the parents were divorced, each was building their own lives and did not show consistency regarding the vision of their son’s future. His grandmother had a great influence on Valik’s upbringing - at first she took him to training. Alexander Khatskevich worked in the same sports section with Belkevich. They were destined to meet again in life, but this time as part of FC Dynamo. During their adolescence, the boys managed to kick the ball around even after classes at the sports school, which made them very friendly. At the same time, Khatskevich was more impulsive, and Valentin was more disciplined and obedient.

Football is like life

Valentin Belkevich played his first professional match as part of Dynamo Minsk in the 1991-1992 season. He twice received the Belarusian champion title with the team and was noted as the best player in Belarus. But somehow a rather wealthy Kiev resident with a connection to football got to one of the training sessions. His decision was immediate: “I’m buying!” The club was paid 400 rubles, and Belkevich left for Kyiv, where the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky immediately saw the athlete’s potential. After a while, he created a shock trinity - Shevchenko - Rebrov - Belkevich. The athletes began to become friends outside of football and often spent time together with their families.

In total, Belkevich played 250 matches and scored 58 goals. At the end of 2006, he became the owner of the “Badge of Honor” for his services to Belarusian football. In 2008, he signed a contract with the Keshly club (Inter - Azerbaijan). Having received an injury a year later, he became a coach, broke his contract and applied for Ukrainian citizenship.

There was an unpleasant moment of disqualification in his sports career, when in one of the matches the Union of European Football Associations accused him of doping. The athlete explained this by injections containing steroids, which were used to treat a knee injury received in 1993. But he was never able to prove his case to the international community.

As part of Dynamo Kyiv, Valentin was repeatedly chosen as team captain. He was never accused of “dirty” play - he was always extremely intelligent on the field, but could group the team around him and off it. Even at the end of the contract with Dynamo Kyiv, when an offer was received from his most ardent opponents, Shakhtar Donetsk, to play for him, he sharply refused - this was not consistent with his life principles.

Personal life of an athlete

In 2004, the Dynamo captain married the lead singer of the VIA Gra group, Anna Sedokova. In this marriage, which turned out to be short-lived, a daughter, Alina, was born. Two years later, the couple separated and Valentin returned to Olesya, an acquaintance from the Minsk period, a girl who for some time had been his common-law wife even before meeting Sedokova.

After Belkevich’s death, legal battles between his women began over the inheritance in the form of an apartment and sports awards. Sedokova insists that the property should belong to the parents and only daughter. Grandfather and grandmother renounced their share in favor of their granddaughter. All this is constantly discussed in the press and included in the topics of various shows. Something is happening that Valentin could not stand during his lifetime - personal life has ceased to be personal, and publicity has brought tons of garbage and dirt into it.

Fatal blood clot

Close people and friends talk about the death of Valentin Belkevich like this: everything happened with lightning speed. Late in the evening, Valik became suddenly ill, he sat down on the sofa and died instantly. The ambulance that arrived recorded the fact of cardiac arrest. The cause of death of Valentin Belkevich is said to be a detached blood clot.

At the insistence of his last wife Olesya, he was buried in Ukraine - Valentin decided to become a citizen of this country and this fact was respected after his death. The grave is located at the Baikovo cemetery next to the grave of the great Bogdan Stupka and mentor Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky.

Valentin Belkevich is a multiple champion of national championships, a cup winner, a successful football player who has the maximum number of titles in Belarus. But the young man gained popularity in show business due to his personal relationship with the singer.

Childhood and youth

Valentin Nikolaevich Belkevich was born in Minsk on January 27, 1973. Almost nothing is known about Valentin’s childhood and family, since he often repeated that his personal life was private so as not to tell others about it. Valentin grew up in a simple Belarusian family. His mother Valentina Kapustina taught Russian at one of the Minsk universities, and his father worked as a historian.

Even as a child, Valentin was taken to a children's and youth sports school for the football section. The boy's coach was Mikhail Stepanovich Bratchenya. After the death of his ward, the coach recalls that Nikolai Belkevich objected to his son playing football.

Valentin was not doing well with his studies, and his father wanted to see his son as the heir to a dynasty of scientists. But on the football field the young man seemed to be among the best. Nevertheless, the father never appreciated the child’s efforts; often even the sports uniform and shoes were selected for Belkevich by the coach, since the father did not consider it necessary to purchase sports accessories.

Considering that the young athlete’s parents were divorced and each of them was building a new family, his grandmothers were involved in raising the boy. For a long time, it was Valentin’s grandmother who took him to training until he became more independent.

Alexander Khatskevich also worked in the same sports section with Valentin, whom Belkevich met much later as part of the Dynamo football club. The guys became friends as children and often kicked the ball around outside of training. Unlike the impulsive and temperamental Khatskevich, Valentin always behaved intelligently, listened to the coach, observed discipline, and did not misbehave.

Football

Valentin played his first professional match as part of the Minsk Dynamo football club. The debut of the young football player took place in the 1991-1992 season. Then Valentin played with a Ukrainian club from Zhitomir. With Dynamo, Belkevich twice received the title of champion of Belarus. Improving his professional skills, Valentin more than once received the title of the best player in Belarus.

A Kiev millionaire came to one of the training sessions of Belarusian youths. He immediately noted Belkevich’s play and said: “I’m buying!” The Belarusian club was paid a symbolic 400 rubles, and the athlete left for Kyiv. There, the head coach of the Ukrainian team, Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky, instantly appreciated the young man’s talent.

Nevertheless, Valentin almost did not appear in the main team - this was the decision of the club's head coach Jozsef Szabo. But Lobanovsky, who returned to Dynamo, noted Valentin’s play and created a striking tandem of Rebrov and Belkevich. Soon the players became friends and off the field they visited each other and communicated with their families.

Captain of Dynamo Kyiv Valentin Belkevich

According to official statistics, Valentin Belkevich’s sports biography includes 250 matches (including 38 cup matches) and 58 goals. At the end of 2006, Valentin received the “Badge of Honor” for his services to Belarusian football.

In 2008, Valentin signed a contract with the Azerbaijani club Keshly (Inter). But a year later the player received the right to coach, on the basis of this he prematurely terminated the contract with the Azerbaijanis and became a coach. At the same time, Belkevich applied for Ukrainian citizenship, and soon received a positive response.

The footballer faced great disappointment during a match in the Union of European Football Associations in 1994. Then Valentin was disqualified for doping. Belkevich himself did not admit his guilt. The athlete said that in 1993 he suffered a knee joint injury, and injections containing steroids were used to treat the injury.

According to the athlete, the steroids were used exclusively for the treatment of the knee joint. However, he was unable to prove his case to the international community, so Valentin was disqualified.

As part of Dynamo Kyiv, Valentin was often chosen as team captain. On the field, he was distinguished by his intelligent behavior, never played “dirty,” but, nevertheless, he often acted as an organizer and the center of his club’s game. Belkevich did not break the rules and did not try to earn a penalty kick using “dirty methods.” Journalists called Belkevich’s period of work at Dynamo Kiev the silver age of Ukrainian football.

Personal life

Even in his youth, a colleague introduced Valentin to a charming blonde of Belarusian origin, Olesya, in 1996. The young people began an affair. Olesya lived on that coin with her husband and son from her first marriage. The girl left her husband for a famous football player. Then Olesya heard a lot of criticism addressed to her: the girl was accused of being only interested in the football player’s money and at his expense she was trying to find a home for her own son.

In the summer of 2004, the press reported the marriage of Belkevich and singer Anna Sedokova. The ex-participant turned out to be an enviable match for the football player, on the one hand, and on the other, information appeared in the media that the marriage turned out to be a necessary measure, since Anna had already been carrying the football player’s child for 4 months.

In the couple's wedding photos, Valentin really doesn't look like a very happy groom. 6 months after marriage, the couple had a daughter. The girl was named Alina. But soon after the birth of the child, the singer and the football player broke up. Valentin returned to Olesya, with whom he lived before his marriage to Anna.

Death

Shortly before his death, Valentin and Khatskevich met with the first coach and at a banquet they offered to thank him by purchasing a car, but Mikhail Stepanovich refused - he wanted the young people to achieve success themselves first.

Olesya, who was then living with a former football player, says that on the fateful evening she went out to talk on the phone with a friend, when suddenly Valentin began to feel ill. By the time the ambulance arrived, the athlete was already dead. The cause of death was thromboembolism.

Shortly before his death, Valentin’s coaching contract expired. The former football player was very worried about this. Olesya tried to cheer up her common-law husband: she entertained him either with fishing or traveling together.

Valentin Belkevich's mother insisted that her son be buried in Kyiv. The funeral was attended by both common-law wife Olesya, who accepted condolences, and ex-member of VIA Gra Anna Sedokova, who laid a wreath and quickly disappeared.

After the funeral, a financially motivated conflict arose between the women. Anna, who had been living in the United States with her daughter in recent years, flew to Kyiv and claimed Valentin Belkevich’s apartment. Sedokova’s claims were also supported by the footballer’s mother, who accuses her son’s common-law wife of the disappearance of a large sum of money. Olesya denies all claims from third parties.

For all the footballer’s acquaintances, his death came as a big surprise, because Valentin never complained about his health and kept in touch with his friends until the very end.

Biography of Valentin Belkevich

B Elkevich Valentin Nikolaevich born on January 27 in Minsk. He began to take his first steps in football at the Dynamo Minsk Sports and Youth Sports School, and his first coach was Mikhail Bratchenya. There Valentin met Alexander Khatskevich, with whom they will play together for the rest of their careers. The young football player made great progress and at the age of 17, Eduard Malofeev invited him to the adult team Minsk "Dynamo". Belkevich played his first match at the professional level on September 4, 1991, when, as part of USSR Cup Dynamo met with Zhytomyr Polesye. Valentin entered the field in the second half and scored a goal. After such a debut, the coaching staff began to trust the young midfielder more, and a year later the footballer Valentin Belkevich was already an indispensable player of the team.

Belkevich Valentin Nikolaevich

In 1992, the midfielder made his debut in the squad. Belarus national team and becomes known throughout the entire territory of the former USSR. The football player's career was rapidly going up, and he himself only played better from match to match. However, in September 1994, the midfielder became a member doping scandal. UEFA prohibits Valentin from taking part in matches under the auspices of the organization for one year. For Belkevich, who by that time was already a star of Belarusian football, this was a big blow. The football player Valentin Belkevich himself later recalled:

“In the fall of 1993, my knee hurt. Our club doctor treated him, Vasily Maksimovich Dmitrakov. At that time, there were no doping controls in European Cup matches. Therefore, no one kept strict records of the use of medications and medical procedures. This is, today, in Kyiv, every pill, weight, and pressure of the player for every day is entered into the computer memory. So, you can restore your state of health several years later. And then, in Minsk, the club doctor simply gave me Retabolil injections. After all, it is used not only to build muscle mass, but also to strengthen bones, which is what I needed,” said football player Valentin Belkevich.

But this turn of fate, as it later turned out, became largely decisive for the midfielder. Valentin begins to train hard so as not to lose shape. In the first season after returning to football he was recognized the best football player in Belarus, and in January 1996 he sets off to conquer another capital. The midfielder's new club is Dynamo Kiev, where he moved along with his national team partner Alexander Khatskevich. However, due to a meniscus injury, Belkevich could not gain a foothold in the Kiev team for a long time, and was a reserve player until his return to Dynamo. Valery Vasilievich Lobanovsky.

Maitre’s plans were to transform the club into a giant of European football, and he immediately began to reshape the team’s composition. At this time, the basics become regular players Shovkovsky And Vashchuk, and a great connection appears in the attack Rebrov-Shevchenko. AND football player Valentin Belkevich becomes the conductor of this team, which will surprise the whole of Europe. Dynamo begins to perform successfully in the Champions League, and victories over teams of the same level "Barcelona" cease to be perceived as a sensation.

1999 was the most successful year for Dynamo in the last 25 years. After a series of high-profile victories, the team reaches the semi-finals of the Champions League, where Munich awaits "Bavaria". The first match took place at the stadium "Olympic" in Kyiv, and Dynamo reasonably counted on success in their native walls. And the “blue-whites” played the first half simply brilliantly, leading 2-0 by the 43rd minute thanks to Andriy Shevchenko’s brace. At 45 minutes Tarnat reduced the lead, but five minutes after the start of the second half, thanks to the efforts Kosovsky Dynamo again took the lead by two goals. However, Bayern showed character, and in the end the match ended with a score of 3:3. In the return match, the German club won a minimal victory and advanced to the final, where they lost in a dramatic match "Manchester United".

That time was the peak of the career of football player Valentin Belkevich, who was one of the leaders of Valery Lobanovsky’s wonderful team. Valentin himself recalled that season:

“With great respect for all the players and coaches, I consider the 1999 team to be the strongest: in terms of play, results, team spirit. Having gathered individually strong performers, Valery Lobanovsky united us with a high goal, taught us to play with the strongest clubs in Europe,” said Belkevich.

But soon Shevchenko, Rebrov and Luzhny. Lobanovsky will be forced to rebuild the team's game, in which Belkevich has taken over the role of first violin. But the Master will die in 2002, not having time to realize all his plans. Loud victories in European cups will become a thing of the past, and in the domestic arena, Dynamo's dominance has begun to be threatened Shakhtar Donetsk. Against the background of the general decline in the level of play of the Kiev residents, footballer Valentin Belkevich stood out noticeably. Thanks to his elegant style of play, he continues to regularly be included in the lists of the best football players in the Ukrainian championship, but the midfielder’s career gradually began to decline.

Valentin Belkevich and Anna Sedakova

In 2004, the football player married a popular singer. Anna Sedakova, but this relationship did not last long. Anna Sedakova and Valentin Belkevich They were married for only two years, but this union gave the footballer his only child - daughter Alina. The midfielder ended his career in the national team in 2005, and two years later he left Dynamo Kyiv. By that time, the player had quite a lot of offers from Ukrainian clubs, but the midfielder chose Azerbaijani Inter. Belkevich explained his decision simply:

“I simply won’t be able to play against Dynamo, which has become a second home for me,” said the footballer.

Cause of death of Valentin Belkevich

But the player did not stay in Azerbaijan and soon returned to Kyiv. Football player Valentin Belkevich received Ukrainian citizenship and began training Dynamo youth. Having received a coaching license, he begins to work in tandem with Alexander Khatskevich, and then independently. Many young football players considered it an honor to train with such a master as Valentin Belkevich. Photo The Belarusian again appears on the pages of Ukrainian sports publications when he, together with the Dynamo youth team, wins the national championship. But, shortly before his death, he stops coaching and disappears from the media space.

Death of Valentin Belkevich came as a shock to all his friends and family. Former Dynamo partner Vitaly Kosovsky spoke about his reaction to the news of his friend’s sudden death:

“Contact with Valentin was cut off at the end of the week... I called every day, he didn’t pick up. And on the night of August 1 he was gone. This is a real shock for me!” the ex-football player recalled.

Valentin Belkevich was one of the best football players "golden generation" Dynamo Kyiv in the second half of the 90s at the end of the 20th century. A technical, incredibly smart football player who ideally suited Lobanovsky’s tactics. This is how he will remain in the memory of all Dynamo fans for many years.

Football

On August 1, Valentin Belkevich, a symbol of Belarusian football at the turn of the century, passed away. One of the best Belarusian football players in the history of the country died due to a ruptured blood clot. Pressbal.by recalls the most striking episodes from the life of the great player.

Valentin Belkevich began his brilliant career in his homeland, in Dynamo Minsk. The video footage did not preserve any memories of those years. The young footballer went through the youth team and the reserve team of the Minsk club, becoming one of its leaders. Then there was an unpleasant doping scandal that disrupted Belkevich’s transfer to Maccabi, disqualification and, finally, a move to Dynamo Kiev. Things didn't work out at first, but with Valery Lobanovsky's return to the club, Valentin became part of something great.

Yes, Belkevich, one might say, came at the right time and to the right club. Lobanovsky created a team that will be called the “golden” squad of Dynamo Kyiv. The pinnacle of these guys was the 1998/99 Champions League semi-final. In that draw, a fight took place that Belkevich will call the most memorable in his career. At the Kiev Olympic Stadium, the Ukrainian club won against the legendary Real Madrid.

"Dynamo" Kyiv - "Real" - 2:0

It seemed that the dream ticket to the final, which was hosted by Camp Nou, was so close... But in the semi-finals the Kyivians were unlucky. The more experienced Bayern stood in their way - 3:3 at home and 0:1 away did not allow Belkevich and company to overcome another historical milestone. The Belarusian, 10 years later, will complain about the unrealized moment in the first match, when his shot was saved by the legendary Oliver Kahn.

"Dynamo" Kyiv - Bayern - 3:3

Two years later, Dynamo was already somewhat different. Andrey Shevchenko moved to Milan, which significantly weakened the attack of the Kievites. Belkevich becomes the real leader of the squad and receives the captain's armband. But he will call Dynamo the best lineup in which he had the opportunity to play - with Lobanovsky, Shevchenko and Rebrov.

Champions League 1999/00. Group stage. “Anderlecht” – “Dynamo” Kyiv – 4:2. Belkevich goal (86)

Nevertheless, for many years Belkevich became the engine of Dynamo, its heart. The Belarusian not only came up with attacks, but also did not forget to score himself. The key to success, undoubtedly, was his amazing understanding with his partners, especially with his compatriot Alexander Khatskevich. At times, the Belarusians fired doubles, delighting not only Dynamo fans, but also you and me.

Champions League 2002/03. "Dynamo" Kyiv - "Feyenoord" – 2:0. Belkevich goal (47)

Belkevich's career in the national team is also worthy of mention. After all, he became the leader of the team that was one step away from its dream of qualifying for the 2002 World Cup. Then the Belarusians took third place in the qualifying group, losing only two points to the Ukrainian team. That European selection will be remembered not only for the conflict with Eduard Malafeev, who accused two Belarusian Kiev residents of an unsuccessful game with their southern neighbors, but also for Belkevich’s cool goal against the Norwegian national team.

Two years earlier, the team played disastrously in the qualification for Euro 2000. Our team was far from reaching the forum, taking last place in the group. But how can one not remember an interesting fact: the Belarusians twice took points from the winner of the quintet and the future Euro finalist of the Italian national team (1:1, 0:0). In the first of these matches, Belkevich scored a goal.

The Belarusian completed his successful career at the Azerbaijani Inter. But, having hung up his boots, Valentin returned to the club, which he called his real home. He became the coach of the Dynamo Kyiv youth team, and later an assistant coach of the Kiev youth team.
